Yellen Makes First Congressional Appearance As Fed Chief
(Washington, DC) -- Janet Yellen makes her first official appearance in Congress as chief of the Federal Reserve tomorrow. Yellen is set to testify about the U.S. economy in a hearing of the House Financial Services Committee. She may offer a hint into how long the Fed plans to continue stimulus measures. Following confirmation by the Senate, Yellen recently took over for retired Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke. She had been the vice chair of the nation's central bank. Yellen is the Fed's first female chief.
