(Washington, DC) -- Presidential spokesman Jay Carney says the White House remains very concerned about problems at the Veterans Administration. Carney noted that a comprehensive review is ongoing at VA health clinics across the U.S. The review includes an investigation into scheduling problems that may have led to the deaths of at least 40 veterans at the VA's clinic in Phoenix. Carney said President Obama maintains confidence in VA Secretary Eric Shinseki . Carney argued that many of the VA's longstanding problems are related to a growing backlog after a decade of war.
