White House: Sotloff Video Being Examined
(Undated) -- The Obama administration is taking more heat after a new video is released today apparently showing the beheading of another American journalist. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said today he could not confirm the authenticity of the purported video showing the brutal execution of Steven Sotloff. The Florida journailst was believed to be killed by ISIS militants after being abducted last year in Syria. The Pentagon confirmed today the U.S. has launched more than 100 air strikes in Iraq to try to beat back the threat from ISIS.

Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest says U.S. officials are studying a new video that purportedly shows the beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff . In a White House briefing, Earnest said he could not confirm the authenticity of the purported video showing the brutal execution of the Florida journalist. Sotloff was kidnapped by Islamic militants in Syria last year. Captive U.S. journalist James Foley was beheaded by ISIS militants last month. Meantime, Earnest brushed off criticism that President Obama is being too cautious about the growing ISIS threat in Iraq and Syria. He called it "Monday morning quarterbacking."
