White House Seeks Emergency Funding For Border Crisis

(Washington, DC) -- The White House is asking Congress for money to deal with the southwest border crisis. Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest called it an emergency budget allocation. The request covers three-point-seven billion dollars, far greater than earlier estimates. The Obama administration is scrambling to stifle a surge of Central American nationals into the U.S. Most of the migrants are undocumented, unaccompanied children.
