White House: Congress Moving Too Slowly On Border Crisis

(Washington, DC) -- Presidential spokesman Josh Earnest accuses lawmakers of moving at a snail's pace on the southwest border crisis. In a White House briefing, Earnest said it has been three weeks since President Obama asked Congress for emergency funding of nearly four-billion dollars to better-deal with the ongoing surge of Central American migrants. Many of the migrants are unaccompanied minors. Earnest said there are "basic humanitarian needs" at play. He said border operations also need to be boosted to ensure that U.S. laws continue to be enforced.
