(Bethesda, MD) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is examining several vials of smallpox that were found last week at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. It does not appear that anyone was exposed to the virus. The vials apparently date back to the 1950s. The CDC will check to see if the smallpox is still viable and then destroy the samples.
