(Maputo, Mozambique) -- The United States say it will no longer produce or acquire any anti-personnel landmines. At a review conference in Mozambique, National Security Council spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden also pledged the U.S. won't replace its existing stockpiles of mines. Hayden said the U.S. wants to fully comply with a treaty banning all anti-personnel landmines. The United States has provided more than two-point-three-billion dollars in aid over the past 20 years for the destruction of landmines in more than 90 countries.
