U.S. Consumer Prices Rise
(Washington, DC) -- Higher food costs are behind a jump in U.S. consumer prices. A report released today by the Labor Department shows consumer price indexes increased point-two-percent in March. Food costs went up for the second month in a row and shelter prices also saw a jump. Economists had predicted a slight uptick of about point-one-percent in both headline and core indexes.
