(Minneapolis, MN) -- The University of Minnesota is launching a new safety program aimed at protecting students on campus and in the immediate vicinity. The school announced what it calls a multi-pronged approach yesterday involving several university offices, student government, local police, public officials and nearby neighborhoods. The effort will focus on the areas of education, environment, enforcement, and engagement. There has been a spike in crime in recent months on and around the U-of-M campus.
