Triple-Murder Suspect Dies In Tennessee Hospital
(Knoxville, TN) -- A triple-murder suspect from Central Florida who was captured by authorities in Knoxville, Tennessee Tuesday is dead. The sheriff's office in Polk County, Florida confirms that David Smith died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. The 27-year-old veteran of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan suffered from PTSD and delusions. He allegedly murdered his sister, Danyala Smith, as well as Nikosi Williams and Miranda Mims sometime over the weekend and fled the area. Their bodies were found by one of the victim's teenage daughters late Monday and he was identified as the prime suspect overnight. Smith may have fled to Tennessee because a woman he once dated now lives there.
