(Atlanta, GA) -- Officials say a faulty weather prediction led to the massive traffic snarl in the Atlanta area. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal says they did not expect Atlanta to take the brunt of the storm. The governor claims resources were not brought in sooner because they believed the storm would severely impact other parts of the state. The National Guard is assisting in efforts to reach people stranded on roads. Deal says they hope to offer shelter to every person stuck in the winter storm gridlock by tonight.
