(St. Paul, MN) -- New cases of syphilis and gonorrhea in Minnesota are up sharply since 2012. A new report from the Minnesota Department of Health shows syphilis cases shot up by 64-percent from 2012 to 2013, while gonorrhea infections rose 26-percent. Overall, the state's sexually transmitted disease rate was up ten-percent. Chlamydia is the number-one STD in Minnesota and hit a new high of 18-thousand-724 cases last year.
