Suspect Killed In Georgia Courthouse Shooting
(Forsyth County, GA) -- A suspect is dead after shooting a sheriff's deputy outside the Forsyth County, Georgia Courthouse this morning. Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper says 48-year old Dennis Ronald Marx drove up to the front of the courthouse and tossed spike strips and explosives out his car window.
Piper says Marx opened fire with an assault rifle. Police returned fire, striking Marx a number of times, killing him. Piper adds Marx was carrying grenades, homemade explosive devices and plenty of other ammunition. The sheriff's deputy who was shot was hit in the leg.
