Suspect In Police Officer Shooting In Custody
(St. Paul, MN) -- Police have arrested a man believed to be the suspect who shot and killed a Mendota Heights Police Officer. Following an extensive manhunt, St. Paul Police say officers surrounded 39-year-old Brian Fitch Sr. yesterday afternoon near the area of Rice and Sycamore Streets. Fitch opened fire at the officers who returned fire. The suspect was shot several times and taken into custody. Earlier in the day, 47-year-old Officer Scott Patrick was shot and killed. The investigation is ongoing although authorities say they are currently not looking for any other suspects.
