Supreme Court Halts Missouri Execution

Supreme Court Halts Missouri Execution
(Bonne Terre, MO) -- A U.S. Supreme Court Justice is putting the execution of a Missouri inmate on hold. Justice Samuel Alito finished a long day of legal maneuvers by upholding a stay issued earlier Tuesday by a federal appeals court. Russell Bucklew had argued the use of lethal injection was unconstitutionally cruel because he has a medical condition causing large masses in his head. He told the court those growths could stop the drugs from circulating properly and could also prolong his death. The full Supreme Court will look at his case on Wednesday.
