(St. Paul, MN) -- Liquor stores in Minnesota will remain closed on Sundays for the foreseeable future with the state Senate's rejection Tuesday of a bill seeking to end the ban on Sunday sales. The Senate also voted down a bill to allow local governments to set their own rules for letting liquor stores open. Those who want the decades-old ban tossed off the books note Minnesota is losing business in border communities to other states. Supporters hold the argument that it's been that way for years and they saw no clear reason to make the change.
