(Seattle, WA) -- The six missing climbers on Washington's Mount Ranier are believed to be dead. A National Park spokeswoman said search crews found climbing and camping gear more than three-thousand feet below where the group was last heard from on Wednesday evening. Distress signals from the groups avalanche beacons were also picked up. No bodies have been recovered, but park officials don't believe there is a realistic chance of survival. The climbers gear was found at around nine-thousand feet on a steep and dangerous area of the mountain. It's believed the group either fell or got caught in an avalanche.
