(Undated) -- It doesn't appear that embattled Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki plans to step down any time soon. Shinseki penned an op-ed in today's issue of "USA Today" in which the retired four-star general said he remains "committed to providing the high-quality care and benefits that veterans have earned and deserve." He called reported delays in treatments for veterans "reprehensible" and said the VA is redoubling efforts to restore integrity to its processes to earn veterans' trust. A chorus of Republican lawmakers, including Arizona Senator John McCain, have called for Shinseki to resign.
