Senate Dems Propose $1B Cut From Border Request
(Washington, DC) -- Senate Democrats want to cut a billion dollars from President Obama's request for emergency funding to deal with the surge of illegal immigrants. Earlier this month, Obama asked Congress to approve three-point-seven billion dollars in funds to help with border security and to speed deportation proceedings. Congress has yet to take any action on Obama's request. It's not clear if the cuts will help get GOP votes for the measure.
