San Diego Man Sentenced For Killing Wife, Faking Hate Crime
Tuesday, June 24
(San Diego, CA) -- It's 26 years to life for an Iraqi-American convicted of killing his wife and making it look like a hate crime against Muslims. Mohammed Alhimidi says his father Kassim Alhimidi deserved the sentence after being found guilty of first degree murder in the 2012 death.
His wife had been bludgeoned to death at the family computer, and there was a note nearby that said "This is my country. Go back to yours terrorist." While it looked like a hate crime at first, the evidence in the case pointed to Alhimidi, who claims he's innocent.
