Ryan Rolls Out Poverty Fighting Plan

(Washington, DC) -- Congressman Paul Ryan has a blueprint to fight poverty. The Wisconsin Republican outlined the plan on Thursday which would combine a dozen programs into one "Opportunity Grand" that moves anti-poverty efforts from Washington to state governments.
The House Budget Committee Chairman's plan involves tax proposals to expand the earned income tax credit and cut down regulations. The Opportunity Grants are like block grants to states which would have the ability to spend on whichever anti-poverty programs they wish as long as the federal government okays the plan.
