Republican Response To Obama: GOP Has Better Ideas

(Washington, DC) -- Washington state Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers claims Republicans have better ideas. In the GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union address, McMorris Rodgers said Republicans offer a more hopeful vision for America. She argued that too many Americans are falling behind because of President Obama's policies. McMorris Rodgers said the President "talks a lot about income inequality but the real gap we face today is one of opportunity inequality."
McMorris Rodgers said the Republican vision champions free markets, limits government and "empowers people." She criticized the healthcare reform law, President Obama's signature legislative accomplishment. She argued that the nation "shouldn't go back to the way things were, but this law is not working." McMorris Rodgers is the top-ranking Republican woman in the U.S. House.
