Reports Claims NYC Has Nation's Most Segregated Schools
(New York, NY) -- A new report says New York's public schools are the most segregated schools in the nation. The study by UCLA's Civil Rights Project reveals that most black and Latino students go to schools where white students make up less than ten percent of enrollment. The report also shows that New York public schools have a high level of what's called "double segregation" in which students are increasingly isolated, not just by race, but by income.
