(Washington, DC) -- The Obama administration is set to open talks with Iran over the crisis in Iraq. The "Wall Street Journal" cites U.S. senior officials saying the direct dialogue is expected to begin this week. The two nations will discuss the security situation in Iraq and ways to turn back the Islamist militants that have overrun several Iraqi cities. The U.S. and Iran have both committed to provide military support to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki , if it's requested.
