Putin Justifies Annexation, Says Crimea Always Part Of Russia
(Moscow) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin says Crimea has always been a "part of Russia." Speaking before a joint session of Russia's parliament today, Putin said he agreed to accept Crimea into the Russian Federation and had signed a preliminary agreement on the matter. Putin said his country has no plans to mover farther into Ukraine, and that Russia did not want a "partition" of that country.
