Prayer Service Held In NYC For Kidnapped Nigerian Girls
(New York, NY) -- New Yorkers are praying for the safe return of the Nigerian girls kidnapped from their school last month. Hundreds gathered at the Middle Collegiate Church in Manhattan yesterday where Reverend Doctor Jacqui Lewis led an interfaith service.
The first 276 people who arrived at the church were given numbers symbolizing each of the abducted schoolgirls. Christian, Muslim and Jewish religious leaders offered prayers for the teens' safe return. The terror group Boko Haram has threatened to sell the girls as slaves or child brides unless the Nigerian government releases its jailed members.
