Police Recalculate Gun Cases, Find Much Smaller Jump
(Minneapolis, MN) -- Minneapolis police have revised their figures in a crime analysis report and found the increase in gun incidents was not as steep as their initial numbers. According to a spokesman for the department, gun incidents were up by eight-percent from 2012 to 2013 instead of the 40-percent police had originally told the "Minneapolis Star Tribune." The discrepancy is being blamed on a flaw in the data discovered yesterday by crime analysts.
