Police: Hot Car Death Was Homicide
(Cobb Co., GA) -- Authorities in Georgia are ruling the death of a baby left in a hot car as a homicide. The boy's father, Justin Harris has been charged with murder and second degree child cruelty in the recent death of his 22-month-old son. The boy had been left in an SUV for seven hours. Cobb County Police say that autopsy results showed the manner of death was homicide and not simple negligence.

An arrest warrant claims Harris stopped for breakfast and then put his son back in a car seat before driving a short distance to his office. Media reports say Harris can be seen on surveillance video checking on his car during his lunch break, hours before he claims he realized his son was still in the back seat.
