(McAlester, OK) -- Prison officials in Oklahoma are postponing a second execution after the first was stopped because of problems with the lethal injection. The execution of Clayton Lockett was halted because of "vein failure." A prison spokesman said that 13 minutes into the execution, Lockett was still conscious and said something is wrong. Lockett later died of a massive heart attack. These were to be the first executions in Oklahoma using a new drug mixture for lethal injections.
