(Washington, DC) -- President Obama is making calls to Western leaders about the crisis in Ukraine. A senior U.S. official says the President phoned German Chancellor Angela Merkel today and underscored the "complete illegitimacy" of Russia's incursion in Ukraine's Crimea . Meanwhile, British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned President Vladimir Putin that Russia would pay significant costs unless the Kremlin changed course on Ukraine. Cameron says he agrees with President Obama that Russia's actions in Ukraine are completely unacceptable and Russia must engage in direct dialogue with the former Soviet republic.
