Obama Talks To Leaders About Plane Crash
(New York, NY) -- President Obama is talking to the leaders of Ukraine and Malaysia about the crashed airliner near the Russian border. The White House says Obama made separate phone calls to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak from Air Force One. Obama was on a flight from Delaware to New York where he is taking part in Democratic fundraising events. Earlier, Vice President Joe Biden said the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 was apparently "blown out of the sky."
Ukrainian officials say the airliner was brought down by a surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian separatists.
