(Washington, DC) -- President Obama will be reassuring our Asian allies of America's commitment to their welfare when he visits the region this week. The President will depart today,and his focus will be on security and economic ties with Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines. Obama's trip comes as China continues to assert territorial control in Asia. The President also will hold a town hall meeting with young people from dozens of countries at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
