(Washington, DC) -- President Obama is paying tribute to a U.S. Army veteran for heroism in Afghanistan. Former Sergeant Kyle J. White is the recipient of the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest military decoration. He is being honored for conspicuous gallantry during a 2007 firefight with the Taliban. White repeatedly put himself in danger while helping others during a fierce battle against Taliban forces. White becomes the seventh living recipient of the Medal of Honor for actions in Afghanistan or Iraq.
