Obama Climate Change Agenda Faces Supreme Court Test

(Undated) -- The Supreme Court hears arguments today on whether the Obama administration went beyond its authority in imposing new anti-pollution rules to combat climate change. The justices will decide whether the Environmental Protection Agency has authority to regulate greenhouse gases from power plants and oil refineries as pollutants. The EPA put in the new rules in 2009 and 2010 and is expected to put out more emission standards for existing power plants by summer. Industry groups and 16 states argue that the EPA's rules would make it too expensive for power plants and oil refineries to operate.
