(San Diego, CA) -- Today is the last day to own a piece of a nuclear power plant. The auction at Southern California's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station winds up today. The plant north of San Diego is selling off tons of equipment, tools, and spare parts. Southern California Edison, the utility that operated the mothballed plant, says all the items are clean of radiation and weren't used in "radioactive processes." The plant that once provided power to one and a half million homes and businesses was shut down last year.
