(Venice, CA) -- Fire officials say at least eight people are being treated for injuries after a lightning strike on the Venice Boardwalk in Southern California. Another man was also struck by lightning on Catalina Island. The eight people injured in Venice have been taken to a hospital. At least two brush fires were started by the lightning strike on Catalina. The National Weather Service says a strong thunderstorm rolled through the area around 1 p.m. this afternoon.
