Nelson Charged In Mankato Assault
(Mankato, MN) -- First and third-degree assault charges are now facing former University of Minnesota quarterback Philip Nelson for a fight in Mankato on Sunday. Nelson was charged yesterday, and police are still looking for a second person who allegedly knocked out Isaac Kolstad with a punch to the head. Court documents indicate Kolstad allegedly punched Nelson in the back, knocking him to the ground at the start of the fight. After Kolstad was knocked out by the suspect still at large, surveillance video shows Nelson kicking Kolstad at least once in the head.
