Multiple Charges Filed In Northern California Wildfire

(Shasta County, CA) -- A man is facing a number of charges in connection to a wildfire in Shasta County, California. The Shasta County District Attorney's Office says 37-year-old Freddie Alexander Smoke the Third is looking at a charge of involuntary manslaughter charge and three counts of recklessly causing the so-called Bully Fire. A man's body had been found on July 16th at the site of the fire which officials say was triggered by the exhaust system in the vehicle Smoke was using. Smoke is a suspected marijuana farmer and was arrested back on July 11th at a pot-growing facility.
In addition to the other charges, he is also facing a single count connected to marijuana growing. More than 12-thousand acres were charred, 20 structures were destroyed and 21 people injured as a result of the fire.
