Minnesota Cafe Tabs Customers With Minimum Wage Fee

(Stillwater, MN) -- A small cafe in Minnesota is charging customers an extra fee to cover the state's minimum wage hike. The Oasis Cafe in Stillwater is seeing several of their customers boycott the restaurant after being charged thirty-five cents to help offset the extra employee costs. The owner of the cafe is saying the wage increase will set him back more than 10-thousand dollars a year. Minimum wage in Minnesota is eight-dollars compared to the federal rate of seven-twenty-five an hour. Despite some of the outrage, the manager of the Oasis Cafe says business has actually improved.
