Mayo Researchers Say Massive Vaccine Dose Cured Woman's Cancer
Friday, May 16
(Rochester, MN) -- Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota say a massive dose of measles vaccine cured a multiple-myeloma patient.
Patient Stacy Erholtz has been cancer-free for six months. The vaccine administered to her was enough for ten-million people. The concept's been tested in mice but never in humans, until now. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic hope to make the therapy available within four years.
