Mass Graves Of Migrants Found In South Texas

(Falfurrias, TX) -- Researchers are trying to identify the remains of migrants found in a series of mass graves at a South Texas cemetery. The bodies were exhumed from 52 plots at the Brooks County-owned Sacred Heart Burial Park. One plot contained three bodies stuffed inside a single body bag. Other plots contained bodies and skulls in plastic garbage bags. The total number of people buried at the site is unclear because the remains have been mixed together. The bodies were exhumed as part of an effort to identify the remains of hundreds of illegal immigrants who have died crossing the border over the last few years.
