Mariah Carey Tops \"Time\" Chart Of \"Ultimate Pop Stardom\"

(Undated) -- "Time" magazine has named Mariah Carey the "ultimate pop star" of the past 70 years. The publication has researched and created an infographic based on the chart success of over 50 artists since 1960. The tally combines the number of "Billboard" top ten hits by each artist and the longevity of each career. It finds that, statistically, Mariah is the most dependable bet when it comes to producing a sure-fire hit. She's been the most consistent in getting songs into the top ten, starting with "Vision of Love" back in 1990 up through "Obsessed" in 2009.

Rihanna is runner-up as the "ultimate pop star, and the top five is rounded out by Usher, the Beatles and Madonna. The King of Pop Michael Jackson comes in at number eight on the tally.
