Man Allegedly Driving Nearly 100 In Fatal Crash
(Minneapolis, MN) -- Court records show 55-year-old Philip Bertelsen of Golden Valley was driving nearly 100 miles an hour and more than twice the legal limit drunk in a November 3 fatal crash. Melvin Jones of St. Paul and his girlfriend, Brandy Brinks-Sutta of Minneapolis were killed in the accident in north Minneapolis. Bertelsen's blood-alcohol level was point-18 when he slammed into vehicles at a red light. He has eleven prior convictions for driving violations over the past decade.
