MADD Calls For Drunk Driving Immunity To End For Lawmakers
(St. Paul, MN) -- Efforts are underway to end the immunity enjoyed by state lawmakers from drunk driving penalties. Mothers Against Drunk Driving is now involved in the push to get rid of a loophole in state law that allows members of the House and Senate to not be charged with any crimes while in session so long as the offense wasn't a felony, treason, or threatened the peace. Bills are currently pending before both the House and Senate to remove DUI immunity for lawmakers.
