(Oakland, CA) -- Alaska Airlines is making sure that passengers reach their destinations after the plane they were on was struck by lightning on its approach to Oakland Airport. Yesterday afternoon, the crew of Flight 2580 from Portland Oregon, saw a bright flash of light and felt some light turbulence. The pilot continued flying and safely landed the aircraft. The plane had to undergo a full safety inspection to see if any repairs were needed and whether it was safe to fly, resulting in the cancellation of a flight.
