L.A. NAACP Cancels Sterling Honor

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP is nixing plans to honor Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. The move comes on the heels of the controversy surrounding a just-surfaced recording said to be of Sterling making racist remarks. The civil rights organization was set to present Sterling with its lifetime achievement award at a May 15th banquet but on NBC's "Meet the Press," the group's interim president Lorraine Miller said Sterling would not be receiving the honor from the L.A. branch of the NAACP.
