Judge Rules That Off Duty Officers Can Bring Guns To Games
(Minneapolis, MN) -- Off-Duty police officers could once again carry handguns into Minnesota Vikings games if it were up to at least one Hennepin County Judge. Judge Ivy Bernhardson ruled against an NFL policy implemented last year that bans handguns from games except for those working security. The ruling came after State Law Enforcement agencies sued the NFL, The Vikings and the University of Minnesota, saying a 2003 state law negates the NFL policy. League officials say they will continue enforcing the new rule until the matter is resolved.
