House Passes Border Security Bill Before Recess

(Washington, DC) -- The House is ready to take a five-week summer break after passing legislation dealing with the border crisis. Republicans passed a 694-million-dollar funding bill tonight to provide increased security along the southwest border. A second measure passed looks to speed up the deportation of migrants flooding the border. The bills have little chance of passing the Democrat-controlled Senate, which has already adjourned for the summer recess. President Obama already described the bill as extreme and unworkable.
