(Washington, DC) -- Hearings are being set up for patients who encountered errors while enrolling on HealthCare.Gov, the government website for the new health insurance exchanges. A statement from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, CMS, says consumers who encountered errors while enrolling will get help completing applications for coverage without formal appeals. The "Washington Post" reported that up to 22-thousand people encountered errors leading to excessive charges, denials of coverage or being enrolled in the wrong plans. HealthCare.Gov was riddled with problems when it launched but has been functioning more smoothly since a so-called "tech surge" aimed at fixing the early glitches.
