German Court Chucks Apple Patent Troll Case
(Undated) -- Apple is dodging a legal bullet in Germany. A court there dismissed a patent infringement case brought by IPCom. The German company claimed it owns a patent that's essential to the manufacture of 3G and LTE mobile devices. Such lawsuits are frequently brought against tech companies by so-called "patent trolls," firms that snatch up scores of patents and sue companies using similar technology. "TheVerge" reports IPCom owns 12-hundred mobile technology patents.
